SHADOWBURN - ABOUT US
BIOGRAPHY:
Playing for the sake and appreciation of music, SHADOWBURN is a mix of heavy and alternative riffs, rhythms, screams and sounds. They bring energy, originality, fun, and hard work to their music. Derek, Zach, Chuck, and Nicki come from four very different backgrounds of music. Together, their individual styles shine and mix to create a strong and original sound that falls outside the realm of typical music genres.
Derek O'Neal (Guitarist & Vocalist) hails from Cumberland, Maryland (originally from Olney, MD) with his family. His guitar style is widely influenced by a unique spread of players from Synyster Gates, Dimebag Darrell, and Ken Susi to the blues realm of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa. His riffs are aggressive, yet melodic and technical. Derek contributes vocals, screams, and growls throughout the music.
Nicki (Vocalist & Key Synth) hails from the Youghiogheny River Valley and currently resides in Finzel, MD with her family. She has been playing piano since age 4 and singing in front of crowds since age 16. She has a technique mixed with vocal heat and screaming to produce a recognizable and signature voice.

Zachary Barbe (Bassist) hails from Westernport, MD (originally from Winchester, VA) with his family. He has been playing bass for 22 years with influences such as Mark Hoppus, Dan Andriano, Freddy Herrera, and Dean Bernardini. His background is in pop and punk, but has recently dived deep into the metal world growing his skills and abilities.

Chuck Morgan (Drummer) hails from Fort Ashby, WV with his family. He has been playing in various rock, classic, and country bands as well as original and cover pop/rock music for about 35 years. His influences are Tim Alexander, Frank Beard, Dennis Elliott (Foreigner), Don Henley, Phil Collins, Rich Redmond, Shannon Larkin, Eric Kretz, and Mike Wengren. This is his first experience with heavy rock and metal music.
